Writing about art in Philly

Two recent articles introduced me to some aspiring writers and a widely-respected artist who brought her unique touch to Philadelphia.

The first article was for The Philadelphia Inquirer and was about the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Tree of the Year contest. Sound like a throw-away article? It turned out to be a fun read featuring some great locals.

The second featured a new mural by artist Candy Chang of New Orleans, whose “If I die” project went international. This mural features a large spinning dial and stories based on the I Ching to help wanderers and wonderers find their way. Give it a twirl here.
