A real life Mona Lisa Vito. My Inquirer article on a female mechanic.

If you know me, you know how I love the movie “My Cousin Vinny.”

While others quote more high brow fare, I’m happy with my stable of quotes like, “It’s an industry term” and “You think I’m hostile now, wait ’til you see me tonight.” (I use the later on my husband all the time and it usually stops him in his tracks as it takes him a moment to realize it’s a movie line.)

Those lines are delivered by Mona Lisa Vito, played by the gorgeous Marisa Tomei. She’s Vinny’s girlfriend, a car expert whose skills make all the difference in the murder case at the heart of the movie.

When I interviewed the super fun Rachel De Barros, now a cohost on the Velocity Network’s “All Girls Garage,” I kept thinking of Mona Lisa Vito.

Rachel’s even more engaging and quotable. You can read my profile of her here.
