When it rains…

I have two stories on the front of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s features section today. Didn’t know they were going to run at the same time but I’m not complaining. I still love seeing a REAL newspaper and I still get a thrill from having a byline.

This piece is about a new exhibit at Betsy Ross House that looks at domestic work. I dislike doing laundry now. I would have really hated it if I needed to haul 20 pounds of water over several blocks, multiple times, and then spent three days getting it all done.

The second is about a gang that protected the original Philadelphia barrio in what is now a neighborhood called Spring Garden. It’s a topic I’ve written about before for Metro, another publication. This version has more details. Read it here.
